As the IT Security Engineer, you are responsible for the administration of systems, services, and applications used in conjunction with security management. This position is On Site 2-3 days a week and responsible for administering and managing the core security functions of vulnerability management, system auditing, security monitoring, and reporting services in place to minimize risk. The analyst is considered a subject matter expert and will oversee security awareness, and security reporting, and stay up to date on security best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Administer security technologies and services such as SIEM, EDR, CASB, SSO, IPS, DLP, email security, and vulnerability scanning.
- Participate in security requirements definition and review of new/existing products and services.
- Assist with testing and implementation of new technologies and/or services including the development of policies and procedures for installation, management, and monitoring.
- Create technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and as-built documentation with diagrams.
- Develop new and improve existing processes.
- Coordinate the vulnerability management lifecycle.
- Oversee the security awareness program, updating and maintaining materials.
- Supervise managed security services providers.
- Assess and respond to security-related tickets/incidents.
- Develop and maintain security-related metrics.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of IT Security (or related) experience in a regulated industry.
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field of study.
- Security certification(s) preferred.
- Experience with Splunk, Crowdstrike, Mimecast, CASB, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 Compliance
- Experience with following a formal change control process.
- Ability to think strategically and communicate those thoughts at the highest level of the organization with fundamental problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with implementing best practices and creating security policies.
- Experience with managing outsourced vendor relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- AWS experience preferred.
